Sam Mirror is an author and the founder of Win-Win Guru Publishing and is best known for her first book, “A Poet’s Journey – Bon Voyage,” which is a trilogy of poetic anecdotes and self-help techniques.
Mirror is a Brooklyn native who was born as Samiyra Osborne. She adopted the pen name Sam Mirror, in honor of her Father, Samual, A.K.A Sam, who named her after himself.
With over 15 years of creative writing experience, Sam Mirror is the recipient of the Martin Luther King Poetry Prize and has composed over 1000 poems. Sam has a degree in Information Technology and has worked in the publishing industry on proprietary print on demand (POD) technology as a publishing consultant. Sam loves helping people bring their vision to life and has published hundreds of POD titles for seasoned and indie authors alike.
Sam Mirror is a mother of two children; a distinctive, yet kind 13-year-old daughter and her late dearly departed son, who transitioned in 2014 at age one. His passing, though devastating to Sam, was the seed of hope and faith that inspired her to give birth to her publishing company. She uses poetry and publishing as methods of helping writers share their voice and overcome hardships.
While Mirror struggled to overcome the loss of her son, she used her writing as therapy to cope with her trauma. Sam Mirror worked as a Technical Assist, then in the capacity of a Technical Recruiter at a top engineering firm in New Jersey on a full-time base while working part-time on her publishing company.
She launched Win-Win Guru Publishing in June of 2016, along with releasing the first title under the publishing house. Mirror is an enthusiastic member of her community and partnered with Rutgers University to provide an outlet for publishing and with PEAK, which is an extension of the School of Health Professions at Long Island University-Brooklyn, to create comprehensive curriculums.
